Description

Up for sale is a Tektronix 4 channel TDS5054B 500MHz 5GSa/s oscilloscope in fully functional condition.
Unit has the touch screen option.
The standard rotating media hard drive was replaced with a 16GB Sandisk solid state SATA disk drive (SSD) so no worries about the heads crashing in this scope when subjected to vibration or jarring! Additionally, it boots faster now as well.
The original working 3.5" disk drive has been left in the unit should you ever have need of it.
NOTE: The NV-AV scopes were made under an extended buying contract for the US military. The hardware in these are identical to the standard TDS5054B, the only difference was the software which was under strict version control. (supporting documentation may have been different as well) The Military does not like anything to change throughout their buying cycle or they have to re-certify the equipment which is very costly and takes months. (I know this because I used to work for a company which made ruggedized x86 computers that are used on all their war ships). When I refurbish these scopes, I wipe the contents of the disk drives, and re-initialize the scope's drive as to how a standard off-the-shelf TDS5054B was originally shipped from the factory with the latest software version. Other than the stickers, there is no difference at all after I'm done with them. Programming, hardware, and software are the same as standard factory units.
The scope has the following hardware options:
3M: Extends standard acquisition length from 50,000 points per channel to 4 million samples on three or four channels, 8 million samples on two channels, and 16 million samples on one channel.
18 Touch screen option.

The O/S is Windows 2000 with
512MB
of DRAM. The 16GB solid state disk drive (SSD) has been wiped, with a fresh install of Windows and the standard Tektronix scope software.
The scope passes all of its extended self tests from the utility menu and calibration routines including signal path compensation (SPC, numerous times to be sure), and is working perfectly on all 4 channels. Bandwidth (-3dB point) tested to 500MHz. GPIB, LAN, CDROM, touch screen, and USB are all tested and working.
Floppy drive is not working, but this scope supports USB thumb drives so it's not needed. Because of this, I'm discounting the scope a bit.
There are no accessories, power cords, or probes included with this scope.
Returns accepted only if the tamper seal has not been broken or will not pass a calibration should you choose to have a calibration done. I will only ship to verified addresses in the continental United States.
