Description
Up for sale is a Tektronix 4 channel TDS744A 500MHz 2GSa/s oscilloscope in fully functional condition. The scope has the following options:
13: RS-232-C and Centronics interface ports.
1F: 1.44MB Floppy drive.
1M: Extends standard acquisition length from 50,000 points per channel to 500,000 samples on one
channel, 250,000 on two channels, and 130,000 samples on three or four channels.
2F: Advanced DSP math features such as FFT, integration, and differentiation.
Cosmetically, it's in good condition with the usual sticker residue and some scuffs. Bright CRT. The pictures show the exact scope you will receive.
The scope passes all of its extended self tests from the utility menu and calibration routines including signal path compensation (
SPC, more than 20 times to be sure, and the analog front end has been rebuilt.
), and is working perfectly on all 4 channels. You will never buy a scope from me that fails SPC, no matter how many times you run it whether warm or cold (Though it should be run when warm). Bandwidth (-3dB point) tested to 500MHz, and floppy drive is tested. The probe interface was tested with a P6243 FET probe. GPIB is tested. The error logs are empty.
Returns accepted only if the tamper seal has not been broken. I will only ship to verified addresses in the continental United States.
Why buy from me? There are some very good reasons:
1. I service what I sell. If at some point in the future your purchase needs service or repairs, I can perform them for you at a 25% discount if you buy from me. On Typical scope repairs for others I charge a flat rate of 0 for parts and labor (not including shipping); if you buy from me, I will discount to 0. If I cannot repair it for some reason, You only pay for shipping both ways and a boxing/packing and shipping account fee which my shipping company charges me. (I don't do my own boxing and packing due to work-space limitations.)
2. I know how to thoroughly test and repair what I sell. Why buy an expensive instrument from a seller that only knows how to turn on the instrument and twiddle the knobs, then proclaim it working by making statements like:
"It came from a working environment"
Translation: Probably removed because it was no longer functioning.
"All knobs and buttons seem to be working."
Translation: That's about all I know how to test after plugging in the power cord.
"Powers on, no further testing done."
Translation: Well, the fan seems to be working and the display does some stuff, it *must* be OK!"
Etc. You get the picture... I actually buy equipment described like this all the time, very often it needs repair. They list the equipment as "used" which in eBays description of used is "
The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully
operational and
functions as intended
."
Yet it has problems, because the seller didn't know how to test it properly, or, at all.
3. I want to get your instrument to you fully functioning and able to meet manufacturer specification. Every item gets a final QC and full test before shipping it to you. I don't want any surprises, and I'm sure you don't either.
Your positive feedback is very important to me, if you have any problems, please contact me for resolution before leaving negative feedback or opening an "item not as described". I will work thing out to your satisfaction.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me and I will usually reply within one day or less. Thank you for looking.
