Description
I did not write the "About This Product" you see above, and some of it is wrong, especially if it is about suffix A, which this specimen is not.If you hit BIN, I will send you a freshly calibrated, refurbed, working, Tek 2465 scope, with instructions booklet, cord, and blue face filter. Tek used to charge around 00 for these in 1984-'86, so here is your chance to get one working like new for less than 1/10th original price. Comes with 14 days right of exchange/store credit.
If you offer less than BIN, I will send you a used 150MHz 2445 twin. I don't like pay cuts, so I enabled "make offer" button so you could offer more to get more, such as: more for a top pouch, more for a front cover, more for a used Tek P6131 300MHz 10:1 probe.
2465 is predecessor of 2465A and B. 2465 does not have auto-scaling which is present on 2465A or auto-measures like on 2465B. Its advantage over A & B suffixes is not needing a lithium battery for memory backup while off.
Most scope probes you may already have should work with this scope. Examples of suitable probes are Tek: P6101, P6105, P6106, P6109, P6062, P6063, P6131, P6133, P6136, P6137 (these are widely available among eBay listings; some even from my listings).
Photos were taken on serial B041049 offered here, a clean unit.
First 2 photos shows leading edge of a 1MHz square wave whose risetime (and that of the scope) reads about 1.2nS, consistent with the capability of a 300MHz scope. This is a far more stringent test than others showing a scope can display trace zero signal lines or 1KHz signals. Next 2 photos show bandwidth capability by comparing 2 equal amplitude 2.5Vpp signals of 150 and 365 MHz (can only sync one channel at a time). 5th photo shows a 1Vpp 1KHz signal into CHs 1 & 2 displayed and curser-measured correctly. 6th photo shows 100microsecond tickmarks displayed in dual time base mode with correct 800 microsecond separation of highlighted tickmarks. Next 2 show clean innards, and remainder are of clean exterior.
I choose to work on 2400s because they were the last repairable scopes Tek made. 2400s are my specialty, so mine shall arrive working correctly, whether you're buying just 1 or several to outfit an entire lab or classroom. Please keep in mind if buying another's 2465, that chances are, regardless of price, almost certain theirs may have problems. I sell them because I fix them, others sell them because they need fixing. It simply isn't reasonable to expect a scope will have lasted 35 years without accumulating some issues that a seller may or may not be aware of. Also, most sellers have no idea how many hours theirs accumulated. While plains don't have usage clocks, this one was found fairly dust-free and with very sharp CRT. I am guessing the original owner (AMDAHL) overloaded CHs 1 & 2 early on and declined Tek's hefty repair estimate. I fixed it by replacing both attenuator sets before recalibration.
Please be sure Ebay has your current correct address before you pay. I am required to ship to address Ebay has for you. Mistakes are costlier to fix after you pay as there are some irreversible "frictional" losses in the payment system which make "store credit" the only practical "refund".
Ebay as a large e-commerce facilitator, is required to collect sales tax for many of the 50 States (may spread to all). I have nothing to do with that and I don't collect sales tax on my own out-of-California sales. If you don't want to pay a large tax (and you are not in CA), then first buy something cheap(er) from me, like a probe.
You get a 14 day right of return (exchange or store credit) provided you don't breach tamper seals, return everything in same shape as received, pack it as well as I, and pay for all shipping.
BUY more than 1 INCENTIVE: If you pay BIN on this one, I will offer you a 10% DISCOUNT on a 2nd item bought from me (if you're going to buy a probe from me, you'll save more by buying probe first, scope second).
If you need probe(s), buying a probe from me first can save you 10% (and maybe the tax) on the scope as a 2nd purchase (I have an unused P6131 listed with BIN). Sequence matters.
