Schmidt & Co Madame de Pompadou Sevres Style Portrait Luncheon Plate 1891 - 1918Pretty relief molded porcelain plate. Has a portrait in the center of
Madame de Pompadou.
With clouded gold gilding along the edge. Marked Victoria Carlsbad Austria on the back in blue. This mark was used by Schmidt & Co between 1891 and 1918.
Jeanne Antoinette Poisson, Marquise de Pompadour, also known as Madame de Pompadour (1721 – 1764), who was a member of the French court and was the official chief mistress of Louis XV from 1745 to 1751.
Has lot of wear to the gilding, and two stacking flakes to the foot rim, but otherwise good condition with no post manufacture chips or cracks.
Measures approximately 8 1/2 inches wide.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
