    Description

This listing is for what looks like a barely used Pico Technology Limited, model ADC-216, Digital Oscilloscope.  It originally cost 0 and comes with the Instruction Guide, User Manual, LPT1 parallel data cable, single probe, CD Rom, 12VDC power supply and a Pico Parallel Port to USB adapter.  I had issues with trying to use this device with my modern PC and are as follows:  (1) I don't have a parallel port on my PC and so I couldn't plug the cable in for  LPT1  (2) I run a 64 bit Windows and from my reading it requires 32 bit Windows for the drivers to work, (3) the USB adapter drivers would not work and so the USB device would show up as a unknown device in device manager.  This product has been discontinued and is considered obsolete by the manufacturer (copyright date is 2006 in the manual) and they discuss windows 3.1, windows NT, windows 98 and the like in the manuals.  So although the device powers up I could not get the software to work which is why I am selling it As-Is for parts or not working.   I acquired this with a lot of other items which have all worked and I do not doubt this will work with the correct drivers on a less than modern computer.

The ADC-216 virtual instruments represent a quantum improvement in digital storage oscilloscope technology. While most digital scopes offer only 8 bit resolution (0.4%), these new virtual instruments offer impressive resolutions of 16 bits (250 and 15 parts per million). When used as a spectrum analyzer, the ADC-216 has a useable dynamic range of over 90 dB.With an 216 and the supplied PicoScope software, your PC becomes a high precision test instrument (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer and multimeter). Additionally, when used with the supplied PicoLog software, your PC becomes an advanced data logger and chart recorder. For users wishing to develop their own software, there are software drivers for DOS, Windows 3.1, 95/98 and NT, 2000, XP and Vista and examples for Labview, Excel Visual Basic, Delphi and C.With its 32k buffer, the ADC-216 can collect large quantities of accurate data at high speed. The large memory means that oversampling can be used to reduce the effects of aliasing.
The ADC-212 and ADC-216 are high resolution, high precision dual channel oscilloscopes.
Unlike the traditional DSO (digital storage oscilloscope) that typically has 8 bit resolution and poor DC accuracy, these units are accurate to 1% and have either 12 or 16 bit resolution. This makes them ideal for audio, noise and vibration measurements. The high dynamic range of the spectrum analyzer also makes these high resolution oscilloscopes ideal tools for tracking down noise in sensitive analog circuits.
