    LS&S Carlsbad Antique Plate with Country Portrait
    Imagine a person enjoying their meal on this plate during the industrial revolution.  This antique plate emerged from the fired kilns of Austria between 1895 and 1917. If 1917, that puts its creation during the WWI, a very stressful time for Austria.  Yet, it survived, and can be yours.
    The dish looks great for its age.  No chips, cracks, or crazing.  The gold has been rubbed off some of the edge showing that it was in use for some of its life.  The picture and colors are very telling, two country maidens playing a recorder.
    The plate measures about 8 ¼”.  The back has the LS&S –Austria mark with the model #2625 written on the back next to the artist’s initials.
