Description
Imperial Crown China Floral & Gold Cabinet Empire Form Demitasse Cup C. 1884-1914Pretty porcelain cabinet demitasse cup and saucer. Nicely decorated with hand colored pink, blue and yellow floral swags. Has fancy gold Art Nouveau style scrollwork gilding along the edge. And gold gilt highlights to the handle. Unmarked, but I've seen an identical cup owned by someone else that is marked with a red X over Austria. I have not been able to find out anything about that mark; however, the pattern is listed on Replacements as
CIM123 by "Crown Imperial." Looking at the other patterns, I assume they are probably referring to the "Imperial Crown China" mark which was used by Bawo & Dotter in Austria between 1884 and 1914.
Minor wear to the gilding, but otherwise excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
The cup measures approximately 2 7/8 inches wide including the handle x 3 1/4 inches tall.
The saucer measures approximately 4 inches wide.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
