Unit comes with a nice metal stand and a special and unique NO-PULL out Thermocouple design.
The unit is so reliable that we will offer a 5 year warranty on the meter itself - if it breaks within the 5 year period, send it back and we will either repair or replace it free of charge. No worries. Melting it does not count (i.e getting it too close to the kiln). Thermocouples wear out, so they are not covered by this warranty.
This is a great, low cost, new, digital pyrometer for glass fusing, bead annealing, etc. Comes with a 72" long type K thermocouple with mini K connector. Comes complete with case, battery, type K thermocouple with high temperature insulation, manual and stand. Easy to use - just turn it on, insert thermocouple and you're ready to go. Stand can be used on a table or mounted on a wall. Pyrometer can also be removed from stand. A great upgrade to replace your small analog dial pyrometer - easier to read, more accurate.
The thermocouple is a special no-pull-out design. The thermocouple is designed to be interted into a 13/64" hole in the kiln. To insert, hold loop at the end of the thermocouple in a vertical position. As the thermocouple is inserted, a keyway is cut by the loop. When the end of the thermocouple is inside the kiln, turn the thermocouple to a horizontal position and pull gently. The loop will keep the thermocouple in the kiln, greatly reducing the chances of having the thermocuople accidentally pulling out of the kiln.
