    Description

At BUY IT NOW, you get a good used Li Ion rechargeable battery pack for use with all Tek TDS3000 series DSOs/DPOs.  You save a 3rd of Tek's last new 1 price (Tek hasn't shipped any new batteries for 2 years due to nonsensical regulatory reasons). Tek introduced these starting in 2008 as a replacement for earlier/heavier/lower capacity NiCd version TDS3BAT. Tek says battery holds about 6.4AHr at 14.4V, good for 3 hours' use. Charging in the scope can take 24 hours at 4W (a TDS3000 idles at about 5W whenever plugged in; will draw 9W or extra 4W with battery installed). Charging in a Tek TDS3CHG fast charger (25W), sold separately (see my TDS3CHG listing) will charge battery in about 4 hours.
If you offer less than BIN, you will get an earlier TDS3BAT NiCd at anything less than BIN.
Since I had/have multiple sets for sale, photos may not be of the one you'll get, but rest assured, all are in excellent cosmetic & electrical condition.
These packs contain the same kind of Panasonic "18650" cells as in a Tesla car (just not 4000 to 7000 of them). Tesla offers their packs with 8 year guaranty. While I am not offering 8 years, I am simply pointing out that these cells, with proper care, can last a very long time. By proper care I mean keeping them most of the time between 30 and 90 % full. To prolong the pack's usefulness, Tesla has an elaborate charge monitoring system, and a circulating temperature control bath; while Tek does not use a temperature bath, they do have temp sensors (to reduce charging power as temp rises), and an elaborate charge monitoring system (there are 4 groups of cells and 5-wire provision for charge balancing). The last photo shows what's inside one of these, and why the pack costs more than just the sum of its cells. Even if one original cell fails (as seen in center of last photo), I replace all of the cells on the assumption that the rest may not be far behind. So there is a GOOD chance you'll be getting a NEW battery for the price of a used.
Ebay (as a big e-commerce site) is now required to collect sales tax for many of the 50 States (eventually may spread to all). I have nothing to do with that, and I do not collect sales tax on my own out-of-California sales. I cannot issue any cash refunds - only store credit. Ebay and its payment platforms differ in their definition of refund. One considers "full refund" as returning all you paid, the other defines "full refund" as all I got from you. Since those amounts differ due to sales taxes, shipping, and fees, under one's definition I would have to return more than what I got from you (since I never see the all the money you pay). Please don't place me in that position, so buy prudently, asking questions first. Fixing mistakes after paying is costlier. Also, please be sure Ebay has your current correct ship-to address before buying as that is where Ebay requires me to ship.
I leave +feedback after you do.
Tek says battery should only fly on cargo planes and in a reduced state (30%) of full charge (for safety). Fortunately, Li Ion batteries do not degrade rapidly in the 30% charge state, but I recommend not leaving them routinely more discharged, except ahead of your flights.
I ship worldwide, but no international carrier likes to take on a 90WHr Li battery by itself as the "main course" contents description - it is much easier to include it as part of a scope, and I would greatly appreciate it if foreign clients would buy it along with a scope, so it can travel as a "silent Partner", especially those in the EU which stopped letting these Li-ion batteries in since 2017 (due to "recycleability" concerns?). Ebay offers a cost effective global shipping service to many countries, whose calculator is included for this listing. If you don't like ebay's global shipping service (due to slow speed), you can select "local pickup" (I don't really expect you to come visit me) which then gives us the option of other carriers like FEDEX, which at least is faster. Also gives the option of combining it in another bigger item's box.
You get a 45 day right of return for exchange, provided you don't breach tamper seals, return everything in same shape as received, pack it as well as I, and pay for all shipping. 45 days is less than 8 years, but I am not as rich as Tesla, and 45 days should be long enough to determine battery condition.
BUY a 2nd item INCENTIVE: If you BIN this one, I will offer you a 10% DISCOUNT from my ebay price on any subsequent purchase. If you need the 10% discount on this purchase, buy something else (cheaper like the charger) from me first.
