    Description

    This is an Antique Pin Back commemorating General Frederick Roberts, circa 1900
    It measures 7/8" diameter
    On the front of the Pin General Roberts' picture is shown over the Union Jack (British Flag)
    A small white banner at the top of the Pin, says 'Pretoria'
    At the bottom of the Pin, a small white banner says 'Gen'l Roberts'
    In the back of the Pin is a paper insert which says:

    General Frederick Roberts, (Bobs) 1832-1914 was one of Britain's most successful military commanders of the 19th Century.  He won important victories during the 2nd Afghan War and revitalized the British campaign in the Boer War
    In later life he became a proponent of stronger defense in response to the increasing threat that the German Empire posed to Britain in the lead up to WW1
