Ex. Refinished Vintage Heddon DeLuxe President #50 9', 3/2, 2 1/2f w/tube & sack

Fish a legend with a fighting heart!  For sale is a Heddon Deluxe President #50 9' three piece, two tip bamboo fly rod.  Based on the angle of the writing on the flats, this rod was likely made between 1933 and 1939.
The very clean and solid ferrules are 19/64ths and 12//64ths which I believe makes the rod a 2 1/2f, roughly an HCH or HDH (#7 or #6).  A true #7 casts easily on the lawn.   Prior to my ownership of it, the rod had been substantively refinished although not completely. The rod was completely rewrapped, all the guides cleaned, the winding check cleaned and reblackened if not replaced.  Only the grip and the reel seat have been left in what looks to be original condition.  The cap and ring reel seat is solid but shows some loss of blackening. The grip has noticeably dried but I felt no soft spots.
The cane is in fine shape with an excellent finish.  The relatively new,
gold tipped green
wraps have not had a chance to age and are still quite bright to my eyes.  They should age nicely once exposed to sunlight.  It might not hurt to give them another coat of thinned varnish. The
black guides and hardware set off the dark cane and wraps quite nicely.  One tip has a slight set which can be fixed with a blow dryer.  The rod is unusually clean for an 85+ year old.
Neither the rod sack nor the tube are original.  The rod sack is new but the tube is roughly period appropriate with its share of scrapes and dings.
This legendary rod is immediately fishable. Why am I selling it?  I was able to acquire an original and better condition #50 which has already seen flight time.  So this one is on the chopping block so to speak.
The rod will be shipped in its tube, inside another hard container, anywhere in the US or Canada for .50.  I usually ship in less than two days but its fishing season so I have given myself some additional leeway.
