Carlsbad Austria china plate 9.75in Cupid dancing woman tambourine pink gold rim

Description

Offered is this lovely fine porcelain plate made in Carlsbad, Austria, by the Victoria china company.
The plate features a pastoral scene depicting Cupid, the god of love, dancing with a blonde-haired woman wearing a long pink gown.
Cupid is portrayed in the classic form of a cherub, putto or baby angel. His quiver of arrows is hanging on a nearby tree.
Dance music is provided by another barefoot woman playing a tambourine.
A gold cartouche frames the frolicking figures. The scene probably is taken from a painting by Kaufmann, whose name appears at the bottom. A bit of white hand enameling is added to the flowing garments worn by the ladies.
A wide pink band completes the décor. Gold filigree designs cover much of the pink glaze.
Two holes appear in the base on the underside of the plate to accommodate hanging the plate on a wall.
The plate measures 9.75 inches in diameter (25 cm).
It is in very good used condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. Gold trim in very good condition although it does show some wear on the outside rim..
The plate dates to the early 1900s.
