Description
Bawo & Dotter Tudor House Victorian Horses & Carriage Maroon & Gold 9 5/8 PlateVery pretty scalloped edge porcelain dinner plate. Nicely decorated with a central scene showing a four horses pulling a passenger carriage / coach full of people in Victorian clothing past a Tudor style hotel. There is a small sign on the building that says Hotel, but I cannot make out the name of the hotel. With fancy gold gilt designs along the inner rim of the plate where the scene is. The border is maroon with fancy gold gilt floral scrollwork overlay. Marked Bawo & Dotter Imperial Crown Austria pattern in green. The Imperial Crown mark was used between 1884 and 1914.
Has wear to the gilding along the very edge, and a 1 7/8 inch tight crack extending off the edge. The crack is hard to see from the front and the plate displays rather well. No other chips or cracks.
Measures approximately 9 5/8 inches wide.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
