    Description

    Antique Carl Knoll Carlsbad Austrian Porcelain Decorative Plate.
    This large 14" plate is heavily decorated with gilded details and a Victorian Styled Female Portrait in the center.  The rim of the plate is decorated in gold with another gold band placed 1/2" in on the interior.  There is a beautiful hand-painted gilded flowering branch with leaves that encases the portrait.  A beautifully appointed butterfly detail between the beginning and end of the branch.  The portrait's gilded trim has raised dot detailing throughout.
    On the backside of the porcelain plate is the Carl Knoll Carlsbad carved stamp, with numbers 2 below and 29 above.
    This plate most likely dates between 1848-1868, but could be from 1848 to the early 1900's.
    Overall the plate is in excellent condition.  No chips, cracks, scratches or stains.  Wear to gilded detailing throughout relative to the porcelain plate's age.
