Made in Austria. The pattern is "Game Birds" transfer decorated bird scenes with a smooth maroon rim with gold trim & accents.

According to:
L. S. & S. -- Lazarus (and Isidor) Straus & Sons Carlsbad, Austria.
They operated the large china and glassware importing business, L. Straus & Sons which was located in New York City.
Isidor Straus is best known as an owner and manager of the R. H. Macy Department Store in New York City.
They exported china from Austria and Limoges to their New York company from the 1890,s to the mid 1920,s.
They are in excellent vintage condition -- hardly any surface wear
with no chips, cracks or repairs.
The plates measure approximately 8 1/2" in diameter
