This auction is for a 1930’s South Bend Model 18-5 Double Built Bamboo Rod with Original Sleeve & Tube. The 5ft rod is in excellent condition for being about 90 years old. The original wraps on the guides are also in excellent solid condition. The rod has the name W.J. Walthers printed on the rod, which probably makes him the original owner or rod builder. This is a super rare South Bend double built rod that could be tied to the Cross Rod Co. that they acquired in the 1920’s. The rod sleeve does have a hole in the canvas as seen in the photos.
